Congressman Bill Cassidy was elected to serve Louisiana?s Sixth District in the House Representatives in 2008.
As an associate professor of medicine with Louisiana State University, Dr. Cassidy has provided care for uninsured patients and taught doctors in training at Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge for the last 20 years.
He co-founded the Greater Baton Rouge Community Clinic, which provides health care to the working uninsured through an innovative virtual approach that partners needy patients with doctors who provide care free of charge. Dr. Cassidy has also pioneered school-based public health programs to vaccinate children against Hepatitis B.
He has a deep understanding of health care policy and families? health care needs, and, as a member of the Health Care Task Force, is working on health care reform that will provide affordable, quality health care to all, while ensuring that decision-making power is in the hands of patients.
Dr. Cassidy serves on the Committee on Natural Resources, the Agriculture Committee, and the Committee on Education and Labor. He is a member of the Republican Study Committee and has been named an Assistant Whip for the House Republican Conference.
Dr. Cassidy earned his M.D. at Louisiana State University School of Medicine.

Congressman Michael Burgess (R-TX)

After spending nearly three decades practicing medicine in North Texas, Congressman Michael C. Burgess, M.D., was first elected to Congress in 2002, and re-elected in 2004, 2006, and most recently in 2008. During his time on Capitol Hill he has earned a reputation as a problem-solver who seeks sensible solutions to the challenges Americans face.
Dr. Burgess serves on the prestigious House Energy and Commerce Committee and three of its subcommittees: Health Care, Energy & Environment, and Oversight & Investigations. He is also a member of the bicameral Joint Economic Committee, and Dr. Burgess recently founded and is Chairman of the Congressional Health Care Caucus.
During his six years in Congress, Dr. Burgess has been a strong advocate for health care legislation aimed at reducing health care costs, improving choices, reforming liability laws to put the needs of patients first, and ensuring there are enough doctors in the public and private sector to care for America's patients, and played an important role in bipartisan efforts to ensure the safety of food, drugs, and consumer products.
As a Member of Congress representing one of the fastest growing areas of the country, transportation is also a top priority for Dr. Burgess. He successfully amended the 2005 Highway Bill to include toll credits, design-build, and environmental streamlining. During his time on Capitol Hill, he also has worked to build, maintain, and improve the safety of our roads, bridges, air service and transit in the North Texas region.
While in the House of Representatives, Dr. Burgess has received several awards, including the 2008 House Legislator of the Year from the Multiple Sclerosis Society; 2005 Legislator of the Year by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners; Guardian of Small Business by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB); and the Spirit of Enterprise award by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, among others.
Today Dr. Burgess represents parts of suburban Dallas and Fort Worth. He was raised in Denton, Texas and attended The Selwyn School, graduating in 1968 as valedictorian. He graduated with both an undergraduate and a Masters degree from North Texas State University, now the University of North Texas. He received his M.D. from the University of Texas Medical School in Houston and completed his residency programs at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Burgess also received a Masters degree in Medical Management from the University of Texas at Dallas, and in May of 2009 was awarded an honorary Doctorate of Public Service from the University of North Texas Health Sciences Center. Dr. Burgess has been married to his wife, Laura, for 35 years, and they have three children and a grandson.

Congressman Tom Price (R-GA)

While in Congress, Congressman Tom Price has worked on bold solutions in the areas of energy, tax and health care policy. In the area of health care, Dr. Price has reached across the aisle to find real solutions. Working with Democrat Tammy Baldwin, they introduced the "Health Partnership Act," which would allow states to use federal grants in a variety of innovative ways to help provide health insurance for its citizens. Recognizing that it is more important to put people before politics.
Dr. Price received a Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Michigan and completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency at Emory University.
He established an orthopedic clinic just north of Atlanta. During the high school football season, it was not uncommon to see Dr. Price at the local games serving his community as a volunteer doctor. When a player got hurt, Dr. Price was there to help guide the family through the process of recovery.
After nearly twenty years of private practice he returned to Emory University School of Medicine as an Assistant Professor. Before coming to Congress, Dr. Price was Medical Director of the Orthopedic Clinic at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, teaching resident doctors in training.
Dr. Price is active in the Atlanta community, is a past President of the Roswell Rotary Club and has served on Boards of the North Fulton Chamber of Commerce, Orchestra Atlanta, the Arthritis Foundation, and the North Metro YMCA. Congressman Price with his wife, Elizabeth, and family reside in Roswell. They are members of the Georgia Ensemble Theater, Roswell Clean and Beautiful, and the Chattahoochee Nature Center.

Congressman Charles W. Boustany Jr. (R-LA)

First elected to Congress in December 2004, Congressman Charles Boustany is serving his third term in office. He represents Louisiana?s Seventh Congressional District and has championed healthcare reform.
Dr. Boustany is a member of House Ways and Means Committee with jurisdiction over tax, trade, healthcare and entitlement policy where, as the only Republican doctor on the committee, he works to promote sound economic development, expand markets for U.S. produced goods and work to put programs like Medicare and Social Security on solid financial footing
As a former cardiovascular surgeon with more than 20 years of experience, Dr. Boustany understands the importance of healthcare and is at the forefront of healthcare policy in Congress. He believes the patient-doctor relationship is the most important part of healthcare and has worked to implement patient-centered healthcare solutions.
Dr. Boustany graduated from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1982. In 1990 he began a successful medical practice Lafayette. For 14 years, he ran a small business and committed to helping others by providing the highest quality healthcare to his patients and the community.

Congressman John C. Fleming was elected to represent Louisiana?s Fourth in December 2008.
Serving on the Armed Services and Natural Resources House Committees, Dr. Fleming is able to focus on creating sound economic policy to grow and create jobs, reducing the tax burden for all Americans, and sensible health care reforms.
Dr. Fleming is committed to solutions that insure all Americans without encouraging further government control of our health care system. He is working with colleagues in Congress, including fellow physicians, to develop proposals for health care reform.
After serving as a Medical Officer in the United States Navy, Dr. Fleming was a successful family physician and was awarded Louisiana Family Doctor of the Year in 2007.

Congressman Phil Gingrey (R-GA)

Prior to his election to the House of Representatives, Congressman Phil Gingrey built a successful pro-life OB-GYN practice in Marietta, Georgia, and delivered over 5,200 babies over a 30 year medical career. Dr. Gingrey served on the Marietta City School Board for four years - including three years as Chairman. In 1998, he ran for the Georgia State Senate, won, and was re-elected in 2000 with 74 percent of the vote.
In 2002, Dr. Gingrey was elected U.S. Congressman for Georgia's 11th District. He currently serves on the exclusive House Energy and Commerce Committee, where he is a member of the Subcommittees on Health, Oversight and Investigations, and Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection. He is also the co-Chairman of the GOP Doctors Caucus.
Throughout his tenure in Congress, Dr. Gingrey has worked tirelessly on free market health care solutions to ensure greater choice for consumers while preserving the fundamental patient-doctor relationship. He has also worked extensively to encourage doctors to adopt health information technology and on medical liability reform as the lead sponsor of the Help Efficient, Accessible, Low-cost, Timely Healthcare (HEALTH) Act.
During his previous terms, he has also served on the Armed Services Committee, the Rules Committee, the Committee on Education and the Workforce, and the Science and Technology Committee. In the 110th Congress, Dr. Gingrey served as Ranking Member of the Science Subcommittee on Technology and Innovation.
After graduating from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Chemistry, Dr. Gingrey went on to receive his M.D. from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta.

John T. Gill

A private practitioner in Dallas, Dr. Gill has served as the President of the Texas Orthopaedic Association, the Chairman of the Board of Councilors of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is currently a member of the AMA House of Delegates.
Once the ?Accidental Advocate?, he now has extensive experience in both Austin and Washington, and has become recognized as one of the most politically active physicians in the nation. Several of his opinion editorials have been published in the Wall Street Journal and Modern Healthcare. Dr. Gill is Chairman of the Texas Healthcare Task Force, a coalition he helped found to bring business and healthcare leaders together to evaluate and promote healthcare policy issues, such as the highly successful Tort Reform legislation enacted in Texas in 2003. He serves as an advisor to the Center for Health Transformation in Washington DC, and has taken leadership rolls in presidential, congressional and gubernatorial campaigns. Dr. Gill lives in Dallas with his wife and four children and enjoys photography, snow skiing and the occasional round of golf.

Dr. Arie Friedman

Dr. Arie Friedman practices general pediatrics in the northern suburbs of Chicago and holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern Medical School. Highly dedicated to responsible healthcare reform, Dr. Friedman has become a widely recognized expert and frequently requested speaker on the subjects of healthcare finance and reform. In addition to his academic knowledge, Dr. Friedman brings to the table the experiences of founding a medical practice, running a small business, and providing hundreds of hours of free care to the medically underserved.
Dr. Friedman graduated at the top of his medical school class in 1998 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Subsequently, Dr. Friedman underwent categorical residency training at the University of Chicago Children's Hospital. Upon completion of residency, Dr. Friedman founded a solo pediatrics practice in Lake County, Illinois. In 2004, Dr. Friedman merged his practice with Premier Pediatrics of Lincolnshire, Illinois, and currently fills the role of managing partner. In addition to being a pediatrician, Dr. Friedman holds the honor of being a Fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Friedman partners with his wife Michelle in raising their five children.
Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Friedman served in the United States Navy as a helicopter pilot. During his seven years of active duty, Dr. Friedman flew SH-60B Seahawk helicopters out of Naval Air Station North Island, California, from which he deployed twice, including once to the Persian Gulf as part of Operation Desert Storm. Upon completing his fleet tour, Dr. Friedman returned to Pensacola, Florida, as a military Instructor Pilot teaching advanced helicopter operations and tactics. During the span of his naval aviation career, Dr. Friedman conducted 406 shipboard landings including 183 at night.
